Utopia’s spectral engine has a wealth of unique DSP processes that combine to produce a myriad of spectral effects. Imagine being able to reduce the noise portion of a sound until all that’s left is crystalline harmonic trails. Or push and pull the grain like HDR photography to increase the details, or smooth them out so that the reverb tail becomes a pure harmonic wash of sound.
Each preset presents a range of possibilities to unlock the full sonic potential.
Each preset has been crafted to offer a range of onset control from short, sharp decays or sustained envelopes to long, evolving blooms. However, Shape doesn’t just control the volume contour, it can also affect the frequency response. Imagine a reverb that blooms with an arc of frequencies arriving in succession as they spread across time and space in a supernatural contour. You have to hear it to believe it, it’s Radical and a lot of fun.
One of our favourite DSP innovations is also one of the most sublime. Auto Clear intelligently identifies clashing frequencies between the newer input signal and the tail, and prioritises the newer signal by reducing the volume of the older competing frequencies to clear space and prevent harmonic clashes. You never need to worry about chord changes overlapping and cluttering up the reverb tail.
Both the Decay EQ and Post EQ feature a 5 band Node editor for the ultimate sound shaping experience. Each Node offers fine tuning of the curve shapes ranging from gentle slopes to sharp peaks. You can even set the frequency by MIDI note value. Once you have the EQ locked in, you can dial in the scale to increase or reduce the overall amount of EQ with one easy control.

Utopia sounds incredible! I’ve found my new favorite reverb for pianos, synths and strings. A lot of powerful control options are offered, however all of the parameters are clearly organized in a way that doesn’t feel overly complicated. A very thoughtfully designed interface. Utopia easily breathes new life and vibe into my sounds. The presets are fantastic starting points to ignite creative choices.

Beautiful sounding reverb especially for those “endless” spaces. Surface is really intuitive even it gots many additional functions, which I really like. Blending these options like the EQ’s, spectral, shimmer etc. smoothly in & out is a great move and let´s you adjust very nicely.
The strength (and likely my main use) is probably long, lush reverbs. Great for ambient scapes or electronic productions as the sound is really beautiful with leaving the signal amazingly transparent, even with those “10sec and longer” tails.

The ability to sync pre-delay and decay time to the track’s tempo saved me tons of time and the groove you get from pumping the reverb with the built-in sidechain is just sick.
